复杂动态理论视角下的隐喻新释

摘要:

过去30年间隐喻研究的主要突破是发现隐喻不仅是一类辞格,更是一种影响人们日常生活中思考、推理和想像的特殊神经映射。隐喻掌控着诸如心智、情绪、自我、道德、政治、经济、广告、科学理论、学习和问题解决等无数抽象域。源于自然科学领域的复杂动态理论的借入改变了经验研究的样式,超越了假设、致使律和预测,转向对语言变异、语言使用和语言发展的观察,对研究隐喻具有新的重要启示。隐喻表现通过话语中连续的隐喻载体得以展现。在微观话语流中,隐喻会随人们利用隐喻载体术语的使用而打开的潜能商榷意义和拓展概念。这些微观层次的隐喻之复动性为更高层次各种现象的自我组织和涌现性奠定了基础。

Abstract:

The past three decades have witnessed findings of metaphor studies that metaphor is not only a figure of speech,but also a special neural mapping to influence man's everyday thinking,reason and imagination.Metaphor manipulates numerous abstract domains such as mind,emotions,self,morality,politics,economics,advertisements,scientific theories,as well as learning and problem-solving.Complex dynamic theory,originating from natural sciences,transforms the empirical research patterns,surpassing hypothesis,causality and predictability,rediscovering observations of language variations,language development,and thus fostering new and significant influence upon metaphor studies.Metaphor performance reveals through consecutive metaphor vehicles in discourse.In microcosmic discourse flows,metaphor can negotiate meanings and extend concepts through potentialities unfolded by participants' utilizing metaphor vehicle terms.The complex dynamicity of those micro-level linguistic metaphors lays a solid foundation for various phenomena of higher hierarchies' self-organization and emergence.
