语言学习者个体差异研究的新阶段

摘要:

本文对语言学习者个体差异研究进行了全面的回顾与总结,并把该领域研究的发展分为单变量研究、多变量研究和综合性研究三种类型。单变量研究的线性假设误区导致了众多研究结果的不统一,多变量研究虽然克服线性假设的局限,但是忽视了个体差异的整体性和动态性。综合性研究以动态系统理论为指导,有效弥补了前两个阶段研究的不足,标志着语言学习者个体差异研究进入了一个新的阶段。在全面评价前两个研究类型的基础上,本文重点对综合性研究的特点以及我国今后该领域研究的方向进行了讨论。

Abstract:

In this paper, the authors make a comprehensive review of the studies on language learners' individual differences, in which three kinds of research are identified, including univariable, multi-variable and comprehensive studies. The problematic linear hypothesis in uni-variable studies causes conflicting research results. Although multi-variable studies have overcome the hypothesis of linearity, they ignore the comprehensive and dynamic nature of individual differences. Comprehensive studies take Dynamic System Theory as their theoretical basis and solve the problems with the other two kinds of studies, marking a new age of studies on individual differences. On the basis of the review,a focus is made on the discussion about the characteristics of comprehensive studies and their future directions.
